If you are a service provider, it’s important to provide avenues for your potential customers to "sample" you and what you offer. Many service providers offer free initial consultations to allow their potential customers to "try before they buy". While I agree with this philosophy, in general, I also know that there is no end to requests for free consultations and sample sessions- and, you, yourself, need to decide when to say "when". Your time is your most valuable asset, and you need to use it wisely. Instead of offering free sessions, can you find another way to provide a sample? Maybe an audio or video of your most recent presentation? Maybe testimonials from satisfied clients? Or maybe you can cut down the length of your free consultations (which is actually one of my most favorite recommendations). Whatever it is, keep in mind that your time is your most valuable asset- so make sure you’re using it for your greatest profit and your greatest happiness.
