Now, I don’t know if you’re anything like me, but I, personally, really dislike having days which are very tightly scheduled, especially if I have a creative project I’m in the midst of working on. It’s frustrating to get into "flow" and then have to shift focus. If you are feeling too tightly scheduled and continually shifting from one task to another, your productivity will suffer. Instead of scheduling numerous small blocks of time, try scheduling in larger blocks of time to work on your projects which require creative thinking or planning. It’s a good habit, in fact, to set aside at least one afternoon every other week to think and plan creatively. In this first week of 2005, you have the opportunity to put in some strong time management techniques to carry you through the year. I strongly recommend this one.
