Now that you’ve identified the tasks you want to hand over, and your budget, your next step is to get clear on the exact deliverables (desired outcomes) for these tasks. So, for example, one of my deliverables might be: all invoices are sent out by the 15th of the month, by regular mail. This is a clear and exact deliverable; I can follow up quite easily to ascertain if this is completed as requested. I might set up a clear deliverable on scheduling initial consultations: all inquiries responded to within two business days, and scheduled within one week of first contact. (Now for this one, of course, I’d have to be willing to leave time in my schedule for these initial consultations to be scheduled. This is all about teamwork.) Define your deliverables for tasks, with as much specificity as possible.
