I’m working with one client who is uncomfortable with being seen as an expert, and this is getting in the way of his capacity to promote himself and his business. A shift we helped him make: try thinking of it (at the start, anyway) as bringing your knowledge and expertise to help your clients. This sidestepped the whole "expert/not expert" issue for the time being and helped this client move ahead with marketing. If your marketing is stuck because you’re not comfortable (yet) thinking of yourself as an expert- try, first, thinking of yourself as a person with expertise and knowledge to share. This will get you started on the path of becoming a more confident marketer.
